Founded in 2015, The Elevation Project empowers formerly incarcerated individuals to build successful businesses and achieve economic independence. As one of the few organizations to center wrap-around services and entrepreneurship for justice-impacted individuals, The Elevation Project creates unique pathways to economic equity through business ownership.
We assist formerly incarcerated individuals throughout their journey, from immediate release to long-term stability.
Since opening the Transformative Business Center in July 2022, we have served 85 individuals in seven cohorts. Only 4% of our participants have had contact with the justice system in two years.
Our innovative approach centers on supporting and understanding that entrepreneurial success requires more than business knowledge—it demands a supportive community and a healing-centered environment. Drawing on the wisdom of lived experience, we create safe spaces where aspiring entrepreneurs can process their experiences while building their business acumen. This trauma-informed approach recognizes that sustainable success comes through holistic support that addresses both professional and personal growth needs.
We believe in creating pathways to success through dignity, trust, and empowerment. Providing a judgment-free space and comprehensive support, we help individuals transform their lives and achieve their full potential. Our commitment to integrity and personalized care ensures that each person's unique journey is honored and supported.
